Bill's Games' Awards
LA Times
January 31, 2002

Our popular Word Scram game was mentioned in January 31, 2002's LA Times newspaper. It was listed as a "Tip of the Week" website in the Tech Times column.

It's also published on their site.

TIP OF THE WEEK
Scrambling for Words
By David Colker

Love Scrabble but need lots of practice? At www.billsgames.com/wordscram you'll find Wordscram, a puzzle that's a great workout for the Scrabble part of your brain.

Using Java, the computer displays 16 letters it chooses at random. You then have 60 seconds to make as many words as possible from these letters. The longer the word, the more points it earns.

In addition to playing solo, you can play Wordscram against as many as three other humans.

One correction, though - the game doesn't use Java. (In fact, nothing on Bill's Games does!) I'm guessing the confusion came from the fact that Word Scram can use JavaScript (though it doesn't require it).
